We at Golf.Uk.Net want to make your experience of visiting our website as pleasurable and easy to use as possible.
We know that we have vast amounts of information available within this website and understand that this is only a good thing if every visitor knows how to navigate through the various buttons and hyperlinks to get to where they desire.
With this in mind and after researching many other websites in the development stages of this project, we understand that not everyone has the same knowledge or experience as each other.
What we have done below is to provide basic information that will help even the most novices of users to get the most from the Golf.Uk.Net site.
If after reading this page you are still having difficulties getting around the website or have a question that would help you improve your experience from using the Golf.Uk.Net website then contact us.
As stated before our aim is to make your experience of using this website a pleasurable one and we will do all that we can to assist you on your journey through the vast amount of information available on Golf.Uk.Net and we hope that the following helpful information is of help to you.
Helpful Information to assist you on your visit:
Golf.Uk.Net has been carefully researched so that you are not confused where to go and what to do. We have designed this website so that it is as straight forward as using your own computer at home (or in the office!).
Home
The main page you will see when you type in www.golf.uk.net into your address bar (in your Internet browser) will be the homepage and from now on this is always referred to as "HOME" as when you are at this homepage you can easily direct yourself to where you want to go within the website by using the buttons on the main navigation panel.
Main Navigation Buttons
These are located on the left hand side and together form the main navigation panel and when you move your mouse cursor (the pointer) over these main navigation buttons you will see that they change colour making it easy for you to know which button you are about to select.
Many of the buttons prompt you with pop up menus directing you to sub sections, (more buttons). You will know where there are sub sections as there will be a small dark green triangle on the main navigation button pointing to the right that indicates there are sub sections for that button.
When you see what you are looking for simply click on the desired button and it will take you to the information you desire. There are 11 buttons on the main navigation panel that are located directly below the Golf.Uk.Net logo on the left hand side of the page. These are:
- Home
- About Us
- Golf News
- Database Search
- Golf
- Promote
- Community
- Competitions
- Site Map / Index
- Help
- Contact Us
In the unlikely event that you find yourself lost, all you need to do is simply click the HOME button which is the first button at the top of the main navigation panel that permanently appears on the left hand side of the page (irrespective of where you are in the website). Clicking the Golf.Uk.Net golf ball logo at the top left of the screen too can also access the homepage.
ABOUT US
This is the second button down on the main navigation panel leading into further sub section buttons of About Golf.Uk.Net and also the Message from the Editor. Why not take a look at these sections so you have as much information as possible to help get familiar with using this website?
GOLF NEWS
This is the third button down on the main navigation panel and displays sub sections of the latest golf news, national & international golf news, regional & local golf news and is also where you can submit (FREE service) any local golf news for all to see.
DATABASE SEARCH
This is the fourth button down on the main navigation panel and is one of the major benefits on the Golf.Uk.Net site that we are sure you will find really useful for searching for golf clubs and courses, accommodation and various service providers in the United Kingdom and Ireland with our DATABASE.
What is a database? - A database is a kind of electronic table and is what computers use to store vast amounts of information in and allow various search facilities to be performed that allows the user to extract the information that is on the database in the format that they require it in.
For example, if you want to find a particular golf club in a particular county and you don't know the name, all that you have to do is a golf club "search by county" and the database will automatically provide you with all the golf clubs in that county that are currently listed.
Then you can click on any of the golf clubs from the list provided for that particular county and you will then have a page appear with all the information that we have on that particular golf club or course.
We have probably got every golf club in the United Kingdom and Ireland (Over 2700 in fact listed) and we are sure that you stand a fair chance of finding what you want.
However, if you already know the name of a golf club but don't have the address or telephone number then do a "search by name" and this will display the golf club (for example if you was to type in "Royal" it would bring a list of all the golf clubs that contain "Royal" in their name of which you then simply click the one that you want.
If you knew that the club was called "Royal North Devon" (which by the way is probably the oldest golf course in the UK) then by entering it in full or as many of the known characters as possible would actually refine your search criteria so that you got exactly the information that you want and would save you time scrolling through the lists to find what you want.
We have actually gone one step further and incorporated the database with the map of the United Kingdom and Ireland that you will see on the main homepage. If you click an area of the map you will see that it changes a different shade and if you select Wales (for example purposes) then it will display all the listings for the selected country. If you then were to select from the county drop down menu and select the desired county it will display all the golf clubs in that county. You can narrow the search even further by then selecting from the city / town drop down menu and this will provide listings for the selected areas.
All you do is then click on the one you want to display and the database will display a page with all the relevant information that relates to the particular golf club selected.
To try and make this as useful as possible we have also added various text hyperlink buttons below the listings that you can select to find out additional information. These include: what the area is like (tourist information), The weather and climate of the area, a map of the area, nearby golf clubs, nearby accommodation, nearby businesses and all listings for the area. We are confident that there is something here for everyone to benefit from.
GOLF
This is the fifth button down on the main navigation panel and when hovering your mouse over will display sub sections with information on green fee offers, society packages, club memberships, products & services, holidays, recruitment and the professionals.
PROMOTE
This is the sixth button down on the main navigation panel and provides information about advertising with Golf.Uk.Net and how it may benefit promoting your business to our visitors. Within this section you will also find the sub sections to add your course, add your accommodation, promote your club and promote your accommodation.
COMMUNITY
This is the seventh button down on the main navigation panel and directs you to the sub sections of the *chat room, forums, guestbook and link to us. *The chatroom does not have a permanent administrator and we would kindly ask you to respect the other users who may be minors. Anyone who is found to be posting offensive material will be permanently removed from using this facility (you have been warned!) and we strongly recommend that everyone reads the terms of use PRIOR to using this section.
COMPETITIONS
This is the eighth button down on the main navigation panel and when clicked will display various FREE to enter competitions that we or our supporting advertisers may run from time to time for you to have a chance of winning great prizes.
SITE MAP / INDEX
This is the ninth button down on the main navigation panel and when clicked will display the site map. The site map is a page that shows all the website pages under the relevant sections for your convenience. You can simply click on a text hyperlink and easily direct yourself to where you want to go within the website. There is also a special feature that allows you to choose how you want to view the links and you can click either section (this is the site map in section order) or choose name (this is the site index) and this will list all the pages within the website in alphabetical order.
HELP
This is the tenth button on the main navigation panel and as you may expect this is where you go if you need any help on using the service or if you are experiencing difficulties with navigating around the website.
Here you will find helpful information (this is what you are currently reading), FAQs -Frequently asked questions with answers (and here it also allows you to ask us any questions that you may have for us to answer).
The golf by counties information page provides estimated figures to give you some kind of idea of how you (if you are a golf club member) contribute to the ever increasingly popular sport of golf in the United Kingdom and Ireland. We have also included a county golf union contacts lists to provide details of some of the people that you may need to contact with useful links which we have selected from various website addresses. When clicked these will automatically take you into other websites that we feel may be of interest to you.
CONTACT US
This is the eleventh and bottom button on the main navigation panel and here we have tried to make it easy for you to contact us as we have included all our contact details and presented it in a kind of contact us form for your convenience. There is also a feedback form and a report a fault form so you only have to fill in the blanks and click send as we wanted to make this as easy as possible so that you do give us your feedback.
There is a facility that allows you to make Golf.Uk.Net your homepage which means that when you connect to the internet that Golf.Uk.Net will be the website that you are always welcomed with which is great if your really into GOLF and want to keep up with what is going on at local, regional, national and international levels.

The subscribe to our newsletter button / field is situated directly below the main navigation panel on every page. We want you to be in control at all times and if at any time you wish to stop receiving the newsletter then all you have to do send us an e-mail to unsubscribe@golf.uk.net and we will remove your e-mail address off our mailing list that you subscribed with.
TERMS OF USE
We never pass your details on to anyone outside of our own group of companies and we would kindly ask you to view our Terms of Use for your piece of mind. This is to protect your security and ensure everyone is well kept informed of the rules of using this website. A link to the Terms Of Use can also be found at the bottom of every page on the website and we have also added three buttons with the most commonly viewed parts of the terms of use and these are privacy, disclaimer and copyright.
TOP PANEL
This is top panel of the homepage where we will let you know of things that are of interest to you or to make navigating through the website easier and it is also a kind of "welcome note".
GOLF NEWS PANEL
This is a shortcut on the homepage where all the national and international news is displayed and you can click on a red highlighted headline to read more about a particular story. As a rule of thumb, whenever you see red coloured highlighted text that is underlined within the Golf.Uk.Net website this usually indicates that when clicked it will take you to another page (commonly referred to as a link or hyperlink).
TIME AND DATE
This always appears at the top right of the homepage and displays the day of the week, the date and time for your convenience.
LATEST
This is scrolling information that appears just underneath the date and time section and is designed to allow you to click on the scrolling red text to re-direct you to a page on the website or to another website on the internet that we feel may be of interest to you.
GUIDANCE BAR
This is located to the left of the date and time and lets you know exactly where you are in the website. You can view this bar to find out what section you are currently in and how you arrived there.
PHOTOGRAPH / TOP IMAGE STRIP
This is located at the very top of all pages. This is primarily for aesthetics on the website but we have also incorporated it so that clubs may from time to time promote their courses through pictures, allowing you to click on the photograph, taking you to the respective golf club's website. However, this is only allowed in special circumstances though so you will not always be able to click it.
FEATURED GOLF CLUB / COURSE AND FEATURED ACCOMMODATION PROVIDER
These are supporting advertisers who may be offering exciting deals & special savings for you to benefit from and when clicked take you to more information or even may re-direct you to the advertisers own website.
We do hope that this "helpful information" page has gone some way to help you with using our website and we would like to thank you for visiting us. If you contact any of the businesses that are currently listed on the Golf.Uk.Net website then please let them know that you got their details from our website as this helps the advertisers monitor their response level effectively and helps with spreading the good name of Golf.Uk.Net around too so that others may benefit in the same way as you.
For GOLF in the UK on the NET
Thanks
The Golf.Uk.Net Team
